The 456MW Feijão Feijão (456MW) OnshoreState of Piauí, Brazil, Central & South America Click to see full details wind farm is due to be built in the states of Piauí and Pernambuco in the north-east of Brazil

Its N163 turbines will have power ratings of 5.7MW, and will stand on concrete towers with a hub height of 120 metres.

Installation is due to start in autumn 2023 ahead of commercial operations starting in spring 2024.

Nordex will also service the turbines for 20 years.

The onshore wind farm is part of the Feijão renewable energy project, a combined wind and solar energy project by a joint venture (JV) of specialist green investor, Green Investment Group, and renewable energy supplier, Hydro Rein. It will have a total capacity of 586MW.

The clean energy produced will be supplied by the JV to Hydro Rein’s Alunorte aluminium and Hydro Rein’s Paragominas bauxite mine, under a long-term power purchase agreement.

In Brazil, Nordex has supplied turbines for 2,339MW of operational wind farms, and for 1,795MW of under-construction projects. The Feijão project will boost the latter figure to 2,251MW.
