German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon selects former Nordex boss as new CEO

Energy Disrupter

Former Nordex chief executive Jürgen Zeschky will become the new CEO of Enercon on 1 January 2022.

He will replace Momme Janssen, who announced he would stand down earlier this month after just over a year in the top role.

Zeschky, who has a PhD in mechanical engineering, was CEO of Nordex between 2012 and 2015, and managed the company through a restructuring programme. While at Nordex, he abandoned offshore wind and channelled the company’s resources into onshore wind to minimise strategic and operational risk.

He has served as CEO of mechanical engineering group Hoerbiger Holding since 2016.

Zeschky will work with Janssen to familiarise himself with his new company over the coming weeks, Enercon stated.

As incoming CEO, Zeschky will continue managing Enercon’s transformation programme – a restructuring of the company’s German manufacturing and targeting of international markets – the company added.

“In Jürgen Zeschky we will gain a proficient industry expert with qualified technical expertise and many years of international management experience,” said Heiko Janssen, chairman of the board of the Aloys Wobben Stiftung, Enercon’s sole shareholder.
