Distillery company Pink & White Geothermal Gin has won one of the top three awards for its White London Dry gin at the 2021 NZ Spirits Awards.

It is always great to report on some of the great stories of geothermal direct uses and in particular here from a distilling company.

New Zealand’d based Pink & White Geothermal Gin’s White London Dry won one of the only three top awards for gin in a field of 145 entrant at the 2021 New Zealand Spirits Awards, as reported by Stuff.

“The New Zealand Spirits Awards aim to benchmark local products against overseas imported spirits. Consumers can benefit from knowing they are drinking a gold medal New Zealand-born spirit, aligned with global quality.”, so the awards panel in its results announcement.

Pink & White Geothermal Gin won double gold, as only one of three awardees in this top category. The distillery was founded in late 2018 by three founders, Brad Christie, Kurt Matthews and Mitch Collins “with a full head of steam to create a geothermal distillery”.  Geothermal energy was part of their thinking when they started planning for their distillery.

Today, the distillery not only uses geothermal power, but also utilizes volcanic rock in its distilling process.
