Geothermal exploration proposed in Çesme district, Izmir, Türkiye.
A subsidiary of Istanbul-based Yediyol Group of Companies has started the EIA process for geothermal exploration in the Çesme district of Izmir, Türkiye.
Bozyazi Körfez, a subsidiary of the Istanbul-based Yediyol Group of Companies, has applied to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change for a geothermal resource exploration project in the Çesme district of Izmir, Türkiye.
According to the news shared in a local newspaper, Bozyazi Körfez applied to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization for the “Geothermal Resource Exploration Drilling Project for Thermal Tourism Purposes”. In the news, there is information that the EIA process of the project has been started.
The company, which owns the exploration license of the 5000-hectare area where the project will be realized, will carry out geothermal exploration drilling at the points determined in the license area given by the Izmir Governorship Investment Monitoring and Coordination Department. The project cost value is estimated to be approximately 5.09 million TL (approx. USD 259,000).
If the company obtains a geothermal fluid with sufficient values as a result of exploration activities, it will use the extracted water for greenhouse, health, and thermal tourism purposes.
