The associate will be responsible for organizing workshops and other educational events designed to encourage the development of geothermal resources in New Mexico. The associate will assist with the collection and interpretation of geophysical data to identify and characterize additional deep geothermal resources in New Mexico. The research associate will also assist in identifying funding for geothermal development in New Mexico, write grant applications, and assist the manager of the geothermal program with project administration.

The position is a full-time, salaried position with benefits, funded through June of 2027 with the potential for extension, pending funding availability.

The NMBGMR is a research division of New Mexico Tech (NMT) and is the state’s geological survey. The agency is located on the NMT campus in Socorro, New Mexico. The preeminent research organization is dedicated to better understanding New Mexico’s natural resources and the earth processes that impact the state’s economy and communities.
