ETH Zurich has an open PhD position in “Technology and Public Policy: the economics of (advanced) geothermal power” as part of the AEGIS-CH initiative.

The Energy and Technology Policy Group (EPG) together with the Climate Finance and Policy Group (CFP) are seeking a PhD candidate in Technology and Public Policy to evaluate the innovation and cost reduction potentials of (advanced) geothermal power and analyze financing options and policies that enable cost and risk reductions. This is a 100%, fixed-term position based in Zurich.

This PhD position is part of the Innosuisse Flagship Initiative AEGIS-CH, which involves multiple investigators from other labs within and beyond ETH Zurich, including engineering, earth sciences, and life-cycle analysis, as well as industry partners. The PhD project will combine several methods, including techno-economic modelling, patent research, policy analysis, and expert interviews.
