The Nevis Geothermal Project has been proposed by the Nevis Electric Company Limited (NEVLEC) in conjunction with NIA. The development is for a planned 10 MW-capacity geothermal power plant in Hamilton Estate, Nevis. There is also a plan for a possible expansion to 30 MWe.

A few months ago, NEVLEC published a Request for Information (RFI) for prospective bidders for the drilling of five geothermal wells for the project. The drilling of the first well is anticipated to commence by June 2023.
