RWE Renewables CEO leaves company amid reorganisation

RWE Renewables’ CEO Anja-Isabel Dotzenrath has left the company amid a reorganisation of the business.

The German company will manage its offshore wind business and onshore wind/PV business in separate divisions to “react better to their different requirements”, an RWE spokeswoman told Windpower Monthly.

For now, the two divisions will continue under the RWE Renewables umbrella, but the company will elaborate further what the reorganisation means in due course, she added. She could not confirm what came first: Dotzenrath’s decision to leave the company, or RWE’s decision to split offshore wind from onshore wind/PV.

Sven Utermöhlen will be responsible for the offshore wind division, while Silvia Ortín Rios will be in charge of the onshore wind/PV unit.

Utermöhlen was the chief operating officer (COO) of RWE Renewables’ global offshore wind business, while Rios was COO.

RWE had formally set up its RWE Renewables unit following an asset swap deal involving Innogy and E.on, which was completed in September 2019.
