Lecture recording on EGS by Prof. Roland Horne available online
Stanford University has made available online the lecture by Prof. Roland Horne on the fundamentals and developments in Enhanced Geothermal Systems.
As part of the Stanford Energy Seminar, Prof. Roland Horne presented a lecture on “Enhanced Geothermal Systems: Are We There Yet?” The video recording of this lecture has now been made available on the Stanford ENERGY YouTube Channel, or as embedded below:
The lecture provides an excellent deep dive into the history, technical hurdles, and the progress being made in the field of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS). Naturally, the lecture recounts the breakthroughs made by Fervo Energy and the Utah FORGE project in creating permeable channels through reservoir fracturing, as well as the recent improvements in drilling rate reported by Fervo Energy.
