Mediterranean call for tenders loses candidate

Wind Energy – Mediterranean Sea

Vattenfall, the candidate selected for the call for tenders for two floating wind power plants in the Mediterranean Sea, is throwing in the towel.

The lack of ambition for the power of future French farms would be largely at the origin of this decision given the rising costs of raw materials.

It should be followed by Skyborn, the latter probably preferring to invest in South Brittany on the Triskeol projects as shown by the signing of the partnership between Anne Le Page, director of La Touline and Valerie Quiniou, ex Ademe and since January 2023 responsible for tender innovations for Skyborne France.

For the moment, there still remain 12 to be in the race, including Bluefloat.

“We want to focus our efforts on other projects in which we are involved in Europe,” explained Vattenfall.
