MB Holding plans geothermal drilling in Aydin
Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Üretim A.S., a subsidiary of MB Holding, is planning a to drill a 1000-m deep production well in Kosk district of Aydin, Turkey.
According to the news shared in a local newspaper yesterday, Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Uretim A.S, a subsidiary of MB Holding, is planning to drill a 1000-meter geothermal production well in the Kosk district of Aydin, Turkey.
The company’s Dora-1 Geothermal Power Plant with a capacity of 8.5 MWe, which became operational in May 2006, is of great importance as it is Turkey’s first private geothermal power plant. In Dora-1, Dora-2, Dora-3A, Dora-3B and Dora-4 GPP facilities, which continue to produce electricity by Menderes Geothermal (MEGE), electrical energy with a total capacity of 74 MWe is instantly transferred to the national grid.
Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Uretim A.S. is planning a 1000m deep borehole to be used as a production well in Kosk district of Aydin. The project cost of is estimated to be approximately 4 million TL. If the geothermal values ??obtained as a result of the studies are below the expectations for production, the drilled will be used as a reinjection well in the Dora 3B and Dora 4 GPP facilities.
