Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) has expanded its presence on the continent with a local office in Hamburg, Germany.

The new location will host a growing team and development activities focused on supporting both Germany’s 70 GW offshore wind targets by 2045 as well as other market opportunities across the region.

“Germany is one of the most mature offshore wind markets in Europe and yet it continues to have very ambitious buildout plans,” said Keld Bennetsen, Head of Commercial and European Development Lead at Copenhagen Offshore Partners.

“Our Copenhagen Offshore Partners team has deep experience in the North Sea region, and we are excited to do our part to help local leaders realize their renewable energy vision in light of new climate and economic realities in Europe.”

This is not the first time the group has been involved in the German market. From 2015 to 2018, COP senior leadership led project development activities leading up to operation of the 402 MW Veja Mate Offshore Project in the North Sea.

COP will co-locate in Hamburg with its strategic partner, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the world’s largest fund manager of greenfield renewable energy investments. In Germany and across Europe, COP is rapidly hiring.
