Energy Disrupter

General – study visit

On 25 and 26 October, a Polish delegation of representatives of The Polish Wind Energy Association, POLENERGIA, NCBR and the Port of Gdansk Authority participated in a study visit to the Netherlands.

The main reason for the visit was to get more familiar with the latest developments in the Dutch offshore wind energy sector.

The visit was jointly organized by the Economic Department of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw, the Netherlands Wind Energy Association (NWEA) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

On the first day the Polish delegation was familiarized with part of the Dutch offshore (energy) cluster in the wider Port of Rotterdam area, where it i.a. visited Sif Group monopile manufacturing plant and IHC IQIP’s facility, which produces equipment & integrated solutions for the offshore sector.

On the occasion of the delegation visit on the evening of the first day a networking event took place amidst the beautiful scenery of the Amsterdam canals and canal houses with representatives of the Dutch offshore wind energy sector and other guests.

On the last day the delegation participated in the annual Offshore Energy Masterclass organized by the Netherlands government for stakeholders from all around the world in the margins of the Amsterdam Offshore Energy Exhibition & Conference (OEEC).

During the Masterclass participants were familiarized with the Dutch Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap, the supporting roles of the Dutch ports & the power grid and exchanged best practices.
