Women in Wind holds 2nd Global Ambassadors and Partners Joint Forum

Energy Disrupter

Last week, Women in Wind convened its 2nd annual Global Ambassadors and Partners Joint Forum, gathering together the program’s Global Ambassadors and 2021 Partners together for the first time to discuss the state of diversity in clean energy today.

The virtual, closed-door forum sought to bring together champions for diversity and inclusion in the wind industry to discuss best practices, concrete tools to apply in the workplace and the focus areas for the Women in Wind program. We were joined by Jan-Daniel Kaemmer, Vice President, WTG Sales Management, Vestas Asia Pacific, for opening remarks on striving for authenticity as a business leader, followed by Elisabeth Anna Resch, Global Impact Initiatives, United Nations Global Compact, who presented on the Target Gender Equality initiative

Afterwards, we held a discussion on the outputs of the Global Ambassadors initiative to date, including a forthcoming children’s book of stories from people working in clean energy.

Our thanks to all participants of this Joint Forum for contributing their ideas and sharing workplace challenges. We hope these forums will catalyse positive sector-wide impacts and further strengthen the global network of women leaders in wind energy.

The Global Ambassadors, profiled here, represent the wind sector in 10 markets: Australia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Denmark, Japan, Mongolia, Norway, South Africa, Turkey and the UK.
