Joint Venture between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners

On 30th July 2020, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) announced a joint venture regarding the development of offshore wind projects in Hokkaido, Japan.

The joint venture is jointly owned by MHI (50%) and CIP (50%), and a team with experts from both owners will be established.

Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) has supported the establishment of the partnership and is honoured to second experts to the project company to develop offshore wind projects in Hokkaido.

Japan is expected to experience significant growth in offshore wind. The partners have high ambitions to be significant parties in the Japan offshore wind market and the partnership will jointly develop projects in Hokkaido, where conditions are attractive for offshore wind.
