The Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy (FORGE) in Milford, Utah, is the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) flagship site for researching and demonstrating new techniques and methods for creating enhanced geothermal systems (EGS). Learn the latest on FORGE’s research and how the site is achieving success in drilling, seismic monitoring, data collection, and more.
Kevin Jones joined GTO in 2021 as DOE Manager and Strategy Lead for the flagship EGS demonstration project, the Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy (FORGE). Prior to his time at GTO, Kevin worked for ExxonMobil, where he gained experience in every phase of the oil and gas asset life cycle, from research and exploration, through development, to late field life production.
Kevin graduated with a BS in geology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a MA and PhD in Geochemistry from Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory.
