ThinkGeoEnergy will be taking a 2-week summer break and will be back with regular geothermal news reporting on 6 August 2024.

As with our annual tradition, ThinkGeoEnergy will be taking a two-week summer break and will be back with regular news reporting by the 6th of August 2024. This will also mean pausing our newsletter after the 23rd of July edition, with the next issue to go out on the 13th of August 2024.

There will be no news article published during this two-week period. We will maintain some activity on the ThinkGeoEnergy LinkedIn page, notably a recap of the the biggest geothermal news stories from the 1st half of 2024, as well as excerpts of some of the special features we have published in the past months.

The year has been off to a great start for the global geothermal industry. Aside from several new geothermal power plants that have come online (and several more that we expect before the year ends), policymakers and project developers are showing increased recognition of geothermal as a valuable sources of sustainable heat, whether for district heating or any number of commercial direct use applications.

It has also been very encouraging to see more private funding going towards geothermal projects and companies developing innovative geothermal technologies. The success of these investments will hopefully create momentum and help address one of the recurring challenges that the sector has faced for a long time.

As the ThinkGeoEnergy team takes this time to recharge our batteries, there will be a few new things that we will continue to work on in the background. We recognize the needs of the geothermal industry and the value that we still can offer. We hope to make an announcement on our efforts soon.

Until then, we wish all of our readers a pleasant summer and perhaps some time to step back as well. Our lines of communication remain open during the break, so keep sending any newsworthy stories our way. We will be back in two weeks!
