Jera from Japan today launched JERA Nex, a new global renewable energy business focused on transforming the global energy system with offshore and onshore wind, solar and battery storage.
The mission of JERA Nex is to accelerate the transformation of the global energy system by creating a new renewable energy company that brings together the backing and resilience of JERA Co with the agility and focus of a dedicated renewables business.
The ambition is to have 20GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035, building a global portfolio of onshore wind, offshore wind, solar and storage assets, through a develop-own-operate model. Achieving that goal will demand new ways of thinking and collaboration.
