Call for abstracts – 5th Philippine International Geothermal Conference
Abstracts and titles are now being accepted for the 5th Philippine International Geothermal Conference taking place on 25-26 September 2024.
The National Geothermal Association of the Philippines (NGAP) has announced a call for titles and abstracts for the 5th Philippine International Geothermal Conference (PIGC). The event will be taking place on 25-26 September 2024.
Titles and abstracts will be accepted until 26 June 2024. All submissions should be sent to the Technical Committee via technical@ngaphils.com.
The theme for this year’s PIGC is “Road to 5G: Gaining Greener Global Geothermal Generation.” The topics for the conference include but are not limited to the following:
- Geothermal exploration advancements
- Environmental, social, and governance
- Innovations in well drilling, testing, and intervention
- Corrosion and scaling management
- Resource optimization and reservoir monitoring
- Steam field and power plant emerging technologies and solutions
The event is also open for sponsorships. Interested parties may contact commercial@ngaphil.com.
During last year’s PIGC, Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Rowena Cristin Guevara stated that the agency hopes for the country to regain its spot as the country with the 2nd largest installed geothermal power generation capacity. The country has several projects in the pipeline including binary power plants in the Tiwi and Palayan Bayan geothermal fields that are expected to start operations soon.
