Abstracts are being accepted for the 4th Philippine International Geothermal Conference, taking place on 27-28 September 2023 as an in-person event.

A call for abstracts has been announced for the 4th Philippine International Geothermal Conference (PIGC), taking place on September 27 to 28, 2023. The event is being organized by the National Geothermal Association of the Philippines (NGAP), in cooperation with the Department of Energy (DOE).

Abstracts will be accepted until 28 June 2023. For more information on abstract submission, interested participants can contact Jem Austria (austria.jjc@energy.com.ph).

This will be the first in-person version of the PIGC since 2019, which we had covered.

The theme for this year, “Greener Geothermal Generation,” will focus on new technological advances in the geothermal industry and new financial and geothermal energy policies to support sustainable transition from fossil fuels and increased renewable energy share in the power mix.

Titles or abstracts on the following topics are being solicited:

  • Exploration and development
  • Resource management
  • New power generation technologies
  • Acidic fluid and erosion management
  • Power plant reliability and efficiency improvement systems
  • Health and safety
  • Environment, Social, and Governance
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Policy and education
  • Financing for geothermal energy projects
