Yellowstone handed over to DEME Offshore

Energy Disrupter

General – Rock Installation

DP2 sustainable fallpipe vessel Yellowstone was successfully delivered from Paxocean Singapore to DEME Offshore after 17 months of conversion.

With a capacity to hold 37,000 tons of rock, the conversion of a 12-year-old bulk carrier into the largest subsea rock installation vessel in the world was a real masterpiece.

The vessel is equipped with a vertical fallpipe system (VFPS) plus a large, inclined fallpipe system (IFPS) to allow pre- and post-lay activities using rocks with larger diameters close to subsea structures.

According to plan the Yellowstone will show her technical and environmental skill on some offshore wind energy projects in US waters.
