RPC announces new leader as former chief executive steps down
Devlin will take over from RPC’s former chief executive, Bob Psaradellis, with immediate effect as the company “enters its next stage of growth,” the firm said.
Shaun Kingsbury, chairman of RPC, paid tribute to Psaradellis’ three-year tenure. He said: “Under Bob’s leadership and determination RPC has grown to be a key player in the European renewables market”.
Career path
Devlin was described by RPC as a 35-year veteran of the energy industry. He is currently a non-executive director at RPC and a senior advisor to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB).
Most recently, Devlin was a senior vice president at Pattern Energy, a major renewable developer in the USA. He has also held executive leadership positions at Iberdrola Renewables in the US, Scottish Power in the UK, and he began his career in energy with Exxon in Europe.
Commenting on his appointment, Devlin said: “It’s a great honour to serve as RPC’s CEO as we continue delivering our vision to accelerate renewable energy deployment across Europe.
Psaradellis added: We have established RPC as a major player across European renewables in short order, entering a number of key European markets and building a great team of people.”
RPC’s growth
Following its launch in 2020, RPC has committed nearly €1.5billion in investments with a declared pipeline of 6GW and it has an onshore development presence in Spain, the UK, Nordics and Poland.
RPC said it reached a “significant milestone” last month when it took over the operation of three Finnish windfarms as part of its wider strategy to not only invest in but to own and operate renewable projects.
