Virtual event – Enhanced Geothermal Shot Summit, 11 May 2023
Registration is currently open for the Enhanced Geothermal Shot Summit to virtually convene stakeholders in the development of EGS technologies.
The U.S. Department of Energy will be holding the Enhanced Geothermal Shot Summit on 11 May 2023. This event will virtually convene stakeholders to discuss the Enhanced Geothermal Shot, an initiative by the DOE that aims to dramatically reduce the cost of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) by 90% to USD 45 per MWh by 2035.
The virtual event will be on 11 May 2023 at 10:30 AM-4:30 PM ET. Registration is currently open via this link.
The Enhanced Geothermal Shot initiative aims to aid in the development of EGS projects by aggressively accelerating research and development in drilling, engineering, data processing and acquisition, and reservoir management technologies. Earlier this year, the DOE announced funding of USD 200 million for Energy Earthshot Research Centers (EERC).
This summit will convene government and private sector stakeholders to dive into the challenges and opportunities in helping the United States benefit from geothermal energy. The speakers include the Geothermal Technologies Office, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Fervo Energy among others.
