Zorlu Energy has established a new company named “Alkan Geothermal Energy Electricity Generation Joint Stock Company” to establish production, steam, and heat facilities.

Zorlu Energy announced that it has established a new company named “Alkan Geothermal Energy Electricity Generation Inc.” with a capital share of 130 million TL (approx. USD 700,000).

Zorlu Energy, holding 100% of the shares of the new company, produces electrical energy based on all kinds of renewable energy sources including but not limited to geothermal power plants. In a statement made through the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Zorlu Energy announced that a company named “Alkan Geothermal Energy Electricity Generation Joint Stock Company” was established and registered in the trade registry in order to establish production, steam and heat facilities.

Zorlu Energy has 4 geothermal power plants and installed power of 305 MW. The company alone represents more than 25% of Turkey’s electricity generation from geothermal resources.

Acting on the principle of realizing projects that contribute to sustainability in every aspect, Zorlu Energy aims to further increase the share of renewable energy, primarily geothermal and solar energy, in its product portfolio and to improve its resource diversity.
