Siemens Gamesa wins large Indian wind turbine deal with new partner

Energy Disrupter

The European manufacturer plans to start supplying 96 of its SG 3.6-145 wind turbines during the second quarter (1 January to 31 March) of its 2023 fiscal year.

The project will be Siemens Gamesa’s first with Azure Power.

Azure has an Indian portfolio of over 7.4GW of renewable energy assets that are either operational or under construction in the country, mainly solar.

It secured capacity for its Karnataka project in tenders run by government agency Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

Siemens Gamesa has now received orders for more than 1.4GW of its Indian 3.X platform, since launching it in July 2020.
