GE Renewable Energy to supply 810MW of wind turbines in India

GE Renewable Energy has agreed to supply 810MW of its 2.7-132 turbines, to Indian power producer JSW Energy. They are destined for as-yet unspecified wind farms in Tamil Nadu.
The 2.7-132 turbine was mostly designed at GE’s technology centre in Bangalore, Karnataka. GE will assemble the turbines at its site in Pune, Maharashtra. Its subsidiary, LM Wind Power, will provide blades from its factory in Halol, Gujarat.
Delivery is scheduled between the second quarter of 2022 and the first quarter of 2023. It is not yet known when all of the capacity will be commissioned.
GE will also help to train JSW teams to operate and maintain the turbines.
JSW Energy is currently developing about 2GW of Indian wind farms and recently contracted Senvion India to supply 591MW for this pipeline.
