Vestas secures large turbine orders in Brazil and Ukraine
Vestas has secured an order to supply 62 of its V162-6.0MW Enventus turbines to the 372MW Tiligulska II Tiligulska II (372MW) OnshoreMykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine, Europe Click to see full details project being developed by DTEK Renewables in the Mykolaiv region of southern Ukraine.
The order covers the remaining 372MW of the 500MW complex. Vestas announced a deal for the 126MW Tiligulska Tiligulska (126MW) OnshoreMykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine, Europe Click to see full details project in March 2021, its first EnVentus order in Eastern Europe.
“Securing the 372MW in the second phase of the Tiligul project is an important step for Vestas to take in applying our EnVentus platform in Ukraine,” said Nils de Baar, president of Vestas Northern and Central Europe.
Project developer DTEK, the biggest private investor in Ukraine’s energy sector, said it “will continue to invest in clean and affordable energy to develop the renewable energy industry in Ukraine”.
“Construction of a new Tiligulska wind farm will become a significant DTEK Group contribution to decarbonisation of the Ukrainian economy, and Europe as well,” said DTEK Renewables chief executive Maris Kunickis.
Vestas will provide 20-year service for both phases of the project. Commissioning is planned for the end of the third quarter of 2022. The first 126MW phase is due online in the second quarter of 2022.
Buoyant in Brazil
Vestas has also received a 348MW order in Brazil, writes Craig Richard.
It is due to supply 81 of its V150-4.2MW turbines delivered in 4.3MW power optimised mode for an undisclosed customer and project.
Deliveries and commissioning are planned for 2023.
The Danish manufacturer will also service the turbines for five years.
With this order, Vestas has surpassed 5.3GW of firm orders for its V150-4.2MW turbines in Brazil.
