India Wind Energy Outlook 2016

India’s development goals, to support a rapidly developing economy, to bring electricity to those who remain without India is growing at a rapid pace. Energy is key to achieving it, and to develop the infrastructure to meet the needs of what is soon expected to be the world’s most populous country

India had a record year and was the fourth-largest market globally both in terms of cumulative capacity and annual additions last year. 3,612 MW of new wind power was added to reach a total of 28,700 MW at the end of December 2016. This total has risen to 31,177 MW at the end of March 2017
