According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), GE was the top US wind turbine manufacturer in 2019, supplying 45% of onshore wind installed across the country last year.

It supplied just over 4GW of the 8.7GW US onshore wind capacity recorded as coming online last year, according to Windpower Intelligence, the research and data division of Windpower Monthly.

Vikas Anand, head of GE’s for onshore wind in the Americas, said the firm’s 2MW platform was “ideally suited” for these locations in the US.
