GE’s Cypress platform secures 69MW order in Lithuania
The E Energija Telsiai project is located 250km north-west of the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.
GE Capital’s Energy Financial Services and E Energija reached financial close with Sweden’s SEB Bank in the first week of August.
The project is underpinned by a ten-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Eesti Energia AS, the state-owned utility of neighbouring Estonia.
GE has also secured a full service agreement for 25 years.
Civil and electrical work at the site started in July. First deliveries of the Cypress turbines are scheduled for April 2021 with the project expected to be commissioned by the end of next year.
According to Windpower Intelligence, the research and data division of Windpower Monthly, Lithuania currently has 548MW of installed wind capacity.
