Offshore Wind Leadership award for DEME Offshore US
Energy Disrupter
General – Award Winner
Last week, the winners of the 2025 Ventus Award were announced at Oceantic Network’s Ventus Gala in Virginia Beach.

Oceantic honoured the individuals, companies, and organizations that have contributed to the global adoption of offshore wind and other ocean renewables.
The 2025 Ventus Award Winners were divided into ten categories. DEME Offshore US & Dominion Energy won de Offshore Leadership Award.
As part of the construction of the largest U.S. offshore wind project, Dominion Energy and DEME partnered on a Foundation Installation Campaign that resulted in the installation of more monopiles in one season than any other project in the country.
The Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) 2024 Foundation Installation Campaign successfully installed 78 monopiles in less than 5 months with DEME’s ORION, a state-of-the-art offshore wind installation vessel staffed with a skilled marine crew made up of Dominion leaders, DEME managers and technicians, and skilled U.S. union workers.
This historic effort was the result of a multi-year planning effort between Dominion Energy and DEME, which resulted in the May 2024 arrival of DEME’s ORION at the Portsmouth Marine Terminal.
Orion is one of just a few vessels in the world capable of installing the new generation of large monopile foundations.
The ORION has a crane capacity of 5,000 MT, a motion-compensated hydraulic gripper, and is equipped with vibratory and impact hammers that enabled the project team to efficiently install the CVOW monopiles in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
