Tender – EPC contract for Patuha Unit 2 geothermal power plant, Indonesia

PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) has published a tender for an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the Patuha Unit 2 geothermal power plant in Central Java, Indonesia. The deadline for the submission of bids will be on 13 February 2024, 14:00H Western Indonesia Time.

Geo Dipa has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of the project. Part of the financing will used for payments under the contract, which will also be jointly financed by the Japan Fund for Joint Crediting Mechanism. As such, the eligibility rules and procedures of ADB will govern the bidding process.

Only eligible bidders with the following key qualifications may participate in this bidding:

• Minimum average annual turnover of USD 107.9 million within the last five years demonstrated in audited financial statements;
• Participation as a contractor, joint venture partner, or subcontractor in at least two EPC projects that have been satisfactorily completed within the last fifteen years and that are similar to the proposed contract, where the value of each contract is USD 86.32 million minimum;
• Similar contracts will be based on the following description: A flash-cycle geothermal power plant with condensing steam turbine not less than 55 MW (net) or thermal power plant (500 MW for a single unit).

A site visit will be held in connection to the tender at the Patuha site on 8-10 January 2024.

At the end of 2021, Geo Dipa announced the start of a drilling campaign for the capacity expansion of both the Dieng and Patuha geothermal power facilities. The construction of the 60-MW Patuha Unit 1 was completed in 2014.
