Sweden roundup: Almost 700MW of new onshore wind comes online

Energy Disrupter

Over half of this is accounted for by Enlight Renewable Energy’s largest wind farm, the 372MW Björnberget near Ånge, Västernorrland County. Despite delays after official energisation in October 2022, full production from all sixty SG 5.8-170 turbines, each of which provide 6.2MW, has now been achieved.

Meanwhile, OX2 announced that it had handed over the 146MW Klevberget to Renewable Power Capital (RPC). Also located in Ånge, it comprises 24 GE turbines.

OX2 also handed over the 86MW Karskruv to Orrön Energy and the 32MW Marhult to UK firm Octopus Energy Generation. Comprising 20 and seven V150 turbines respectively, both are located in Uppvidinge, Kronoberg County.

Elsewhere, the 60MW Hultema was brought online in Motala, Östergötland County. Developed by PNE’s VKS Vindkraft and comprising SG 6.0-155 turbines, it had been acquired in March 2021 by Swiss infrastructure fund, Reichmuth Infrastruktur II KmGK.

A number of other Swedish projects were approaching completion, among them the 260MW Stor-Skälsjön in Sundsvall and Timrå, Västernorrland County. The 42-turbine asset began production in September 2023, with full operations expected by March 2024.
