Greeneco Energy geothermal project in Türkiye to be awarded with gov’t incentives
The planned 49-MW geothermal power plant of Greeneco Energy in Sarayköy, Türkiye is set to receive an investment incentive equivalent to approx. USD 83 million.
Greeneco Energy‘s 49-MW geothermal power plant to be built in Sarayköy, Denizli in Türkiye has been selected as one of 326 projects from various energy sectors that will receive incentive certificates from the government. The project is entitlted to receive an investment of approximately TL 1.63 billion (approx. USD 83 million), the highest investment amount among the projects in the renewable energy sector.
The selection of projects eligible for the investment incentive certificates was announced by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The total investment amount for the eligible projects will be TL 90.45 billion.
Plans for the 49-MW geothermal power plant of Greeneco, the JES-7, in Sarayköy were first announced in 2021. This is an expansion of the Greeneco geothermal complex which currently has a total installed capacity of 106 MW. In October 2022, an expropriation decision for three parcels of land in the Kabaagaç District of Sarayköy was made to pave the way for the construction of JES-7.
