Turkiye’s Geothermal Energy Association (JED) holds 2nd General Assembly
Ali Kindap has been re-elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the 2nd Ordinary General Assembly of the Geothermal Energy Association (JED) of Turkiye.
The Geothermal Energy Association (JED), which brings together companies operating in the field of geothermal resources in Turkiye, held its 2nd Ordinary General Assembly.
At the General Assembly held at the Istanbul Raffles Hotel, the current Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ali Kindap, was re-elected to this task with a unanimous vote of all members, reassuring him.
Ali Kindap, who gave information about the activities of the association and its new term goals at the General Assembly, said, “As the non-governmental organization that is the representative of geothermal energy in our country, I have to proudly state that the weight of our discourse and actions is at an increasing level of satisfaction. The Geothermal Energy Association, as it has done so far, stands at an equal distance to every stakeholder from now on; respectful of public authorities; who do not hesitate to convey their constructive suggestions and ideas to their interlocutors; see every company investing in our country as ‘domestic’; taking the initiative in attracting new main and sub-industry investments to our sector; The association will maintain its stance, working for the development of new, permanent and trust-based collaborations among our members.”
Emphasis on integrated use in geothermal will come to the fore
Kindap noted that, in the new working period, they will put more emphasis on the directly integrated use of geothermal energy. This creates added value in many different sectors including residential heating, thermal tourism, greenhouse heating, fruit drying, and electricity production.
Noting that the investment momentum between 2010-2020 in geothermal energy has been an unprecedented success story in the world, Kindap added that they want to relive and keep alive this period, which is referred to as the “Turkish Miracle” in the international literature of the sector.
Effective communication with all stakeholders
Pointing out that investments came to a halt after the change in the Renewable Energy Resources Support Mechanism (YEKDEM) in 2021, Kindap made the following assessment:
“The primary duty of our Board of Directors in the new working period will be to continue to express our truths for geothermal energy investments to reach the point where they can be made again. Our most important wish is to give happy news to our industry and our members. We constantly express and follow up on the demands and expectations of our industry in the eyes of our public authorities and bureaucracy.”
“JED, which has made great strides in its corporate structuring in the past two and a half years, will continue to create value-creating works for our members with an increasing work tempo. We will keep effective communication channels open with all our stakeholders. As the representative of our sector, we will continue to be accessible at all times. On the public administration side, we will continue our activities to optimally manage the geothermal potential of our country, together with the creation of strategic plans, the activation of legislative processes, and the development of environmental and social policies.”
