Geology Rocks! A Spoken Word piece on geothermal energy by Francesca Beard
Spoken word artist Francesca Beard has written “Geology Rocks” – a creative piece on geothermal energy, its applications, and the role that it can play in building a sustainable future.
Spoken Word Artist Francesca Beard, with help from the British Geological Survey, has written a piece that explores geothermal energy and the role that it could play in reversing climate change. The performance of the Spoken Word piece entitled “Geology Rocks!” can be viewed in the video below or in the page of the Earth Futures Festival.
“Geology Rocks!” is part of “Hot Poets – 12 Poems About Saving the World,” a collection of pieces written by twelve of the UK and Africa’s most well known Spoken Word artists in collaboration with scientists, climate educators, and engineers from leading environmental organizations and charities across the world. Hot Poets aims to prove the value of involving the arts in the conversation about climate change.
The performance of the piece is one of the finalists in the Earth Futures Festival 2022, a festival organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) that features works that highlight the role of Earth Science in building a sustainable future. Voting for the People’s Choice Award will open on August 30, 2022.
