TotalEnergies announces the approval of the development of the Ballymore oil field, located in the Gulf of Mexico, 120 kilometers from the coast of Louisiana.

TotalEnergies holds a 40% interest in the Ballymore field. Chevron holds a 60% interest as operator.

The Ballymore field will be developed with 3 producing wells connected to Blind Faith’s existing floating production unit, operated by Chevron.

The start of production is scheduled for 2025 with a capacity of 75,000 barrels of oil per day.

By using existing infrastructure, the project has low development costs and low greenhouse gas emissions intensity.

“The approval for the development of the Ballymore field, only four years after the discovery, is the result of our exploration efforts in the Gulf of Mexico,” said David Mendelson, Americas Director of Exploration & Production for TotalEnergies.
