DHSS opens new support base in IJmuiden
With the opening of a new ISPS terminal in the port of IJmuiden, also a first offshore wind project started off.
Installation vessel Bold Tern and various daily calls of CTV’s paid a visit at DHSS’s new terminal. Bold Tern is preparing for a maintenance campaign in a nearby situated offshore wind farm. The purpose will be that the installation vessel stays out as long as possible and 2 CTV’s will make multiple daily calls at the support base in IJmuiden.
The new support base is situated opposite the other location of DHSS at the Monnickendamkade in IJmuiden.
The logistics base is, beside the ideal spot for installation or walk-to-work vessels, also a perfect location for CTV calls.
“By making use of the ramp which is situated at our new terminal, we now have a multi-purpose support base in the deep sea port of IJmuiden,” says Wim Schouwenaar, founder and CEO of DHSS.
With this expansion of our current presence in IJmuiden, DHSS clearly indicates that it will commit to IJmuiden for a longer period of time. With our bases here we are able to efficiently support our customers and provide them with an extensive logistics package with the core concept that Ijmuiden is the preferred gateway to offshore assets in the North Sea.”
