Wind Energy – Partnership

Last week Dutch CORROSION and Chinese Haili Wind Power entered into a strategic partnership to jointly serve the Chinese market for the effective protection of wind farms against corrosion.

CORROSION is specialist in active cathodic protection solutions and this collaboration marks Haili Wind Power’s first step towards establishing a robust supply chain for European wind farms.

As part of this initiative, CORROSION will play an active role in protecting the first 300 monopiles delivered by Haili Wind Power.

Haili Wind Power has nearly 15 years of experience in the manufacture of offshore components and holds a prominent position in the wind energy industry. To meet global demand, Haili operates more than 10 production facilities in Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces, with an annual production capacity of 1,500,000 tonnes, which is expected to reach 2,000,000 tonnes by 2025.

The company’s manufacturing capabilities include parts with an outer diameter of up to 15 meters, and it leverages port resources for worldwide distribution. Key products include towers, monopiles, jackets, booster stations, and floating foundations.

CORROSION is at the forefront of innovation in the wind sector and is a world leader in the environmentally friendly protection of wind turbine foundations against corrosion through its ICCP (Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) technology.
