Overhauling Viking Neptun’s 400-ton offshore crane

Energy Disrupter

General – Drydocking

DEME’s Viking Neptun, the DP3 Offshore Construction and Cable Installation vessel has just completed its 10-year class survey at Orskov Yard.

As a ship operating heavy loads in challenging environments, a vessel such as the Viking Neptun is distinguished by its integration of cutting-edge technology and complex mechanical systems.

Viking Neptun has been serving in the offshore wind sector for several years and is owned by DEME Group and managed by Eidesvik Offshore, who chose Orskov Yard because of our vast experience in maintaining highly advanced equipment on specialized offshore vessels.

The dry-docking included load testing and complete overhauls of two advanced offshore cranes, including the 5-year survey of a 400-ton active heave-compensated (AHC) crane.
