Jeroen de Graaf new director of IRO and of NMT
General – Appointment
On the first of June, Jeroen de Graaf will take office as director of the Dutch maritime trade associations IRO and NMT.
De Graaf has received the unanimous confidence of the boards of both organisations because he brings with him a unique combination of political experience and solid management experience in business.
IRO and NMT are both successful and financially sound industry associations and have worked together in various fields for many years. They are currently investigating whether a merger would bring concrete added value. Appointing a joint managing director is a logical choice in that process. However, a final decision on a possible merger will follow later this year, in which case it will be submitted to the members for approval.
Jeroen de Graaf (48) brings with him a lot of experience. For instance, he has been political assistant to several members of government, including former prime minister Balkenende, has held management and board positions at SNS-Reaal and Volksbank and was Head of Communications at the Dutch Association of Insurers.
