Webinar – Lemont GeoLithium, a Tasmanian geothermal & lithium project, 29 February 2024
The Australian Geothermal Association will be hosting a webinar on Lemont GeoLithium, a project exploring geothermal and lithium extraction in Tasmania.
Registration is currently open for a webinar to be hosted by the Australian Geothermal Association on “Lemont GeoLithium, a Tasmanian geothermal power plus lithium-in-brine project.” Attendance is free for all.
The details of the event are as follows:
- Date: 29 February 2024, 12:00 to 1:00 PM AWST
- Speaker: Dr John Bishop, Direct Lithium Pty Ltd
- Registration: Register via this link
Lemont GeoLithium is a dual-stream project, working to develop a geothermal power plant with extraction of lithium (and potentially other metals) from the brine prior to its reinjection. The project is located in NE Tasmania and is at the ‘drill-ready’ stage. If the results confirm the concept, a very large resource will have been discovered in this exceptional setting which includes some of Australia’s highest recorded heat flows, ore-grade lithium values and a network of extensive, highly permeable fracture zones.
Dr John Bishop, the Executive Chairman of Direct Lithium Pty Ltd, will be presenting the latest update on this Lemont project.
John is a geophysicist with over 40 years’ experience including nearly two decades in geothermal energy. He has founded and co-founded several resource and energy companies including the consulting company Mitre Geophysics and geothermal explorer KUTh Energy (ASX: KEN) in 2007 which discovered and defined geothermal resources in Australia and the SW Pacific.
