Experts discuss geothermal energy at the Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain
The Royal Academy of Sciences brings together experts from IGME, GEOPLAT, Repsol and Complutense University to discuss the future of geothermal energy in Spain.
The Royal Academy of Sciences (RAC) of Spain is preparing to open its doors on February 21 at 6:00 p.m. (Madrid time), offering a unique opportunity for the general public to immerse themselves in an enriching dialogue between experts of renown on a topic of high importance today: geothermal energy.
This event, titled “Geothermal Energy: A Renewable, Profitable and Constant Energy”, promises to cover topics on the nature of geothermal energy, its applications in both shallow and deep geothermal energy, and the future perspectives of this form of energy in Spain, addressing crucial topics such as exploration, research and exploitation. In addition, special attention will be devoted to the main scientific and technological challenges that are currently being worked on to improve knowledge and use of this resource.
The session, organized in collaboration between the Royal Academy of Sciences (RAC), the Geological and Mining Institute of Spain ( IGME ) and the Geological Society of Spain , will be attended by three experts in this field: Cristina de Santiago from the IGME -CSIC, Celestino García de la Noceda of the Governing Group of the GEOPLAT Technology and Innovation Platform , and Álvaro Arnáiz of Repsol . These experts will be moderated by Alfonso Muñoz, Dean of the Faculty of Geological Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid .
The event will take place in person and will also be available in streaming format, which will allow the participation of a larger and more diverse audience. Those interested in attending or following the event online can find more information in the document linked below.
