Gulf of Thailand hotspot for offshore O&G exploration and production
Fossil Energy – Thailand
One of the most significant developments in the Gulf of Thailand is the start of production from the Bongkot South field, which is operated by PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP).
The field is expected to produce up to 150 million cubic feet per day of natural gas, which will help to meet Thailand’s growing energy needs.
Another major project is the development of the Erawan field, which is also operated by PTTEP. The field is currently undergoing a major refurbishment, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
Once the refurbishment is complete, the field is expected to produce up to 800 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.
In addition to these major projects, a number of smaller offshore oil and gas projects are also underway in the Gulf of Thailand. These projects are being developed by a variety of companies, including both Thai and international players.
