Start of DEME’s second OWF project in Taiwan
Wind Energy – Taiwan
Zhong Neng, CDWE’s (DEME and CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering) second offshore wind farm installation project in Taiwan, enters construction phase!
DEME’s Apollo will start with the installation of the pin piles, which have been produced locally by CTCI Mac.
The pin piles will be installed using a special, in-house designed template.
Working in close cooperation with the client and local supply chain partners, CDWE is very pleased to reach this milestone as the offshore construction phase gets underway.
The first load-out of pin-piles was carried out this week. CDWE will install 93 pin piles and the jacket foundations, as well as the Vestas V174-9.5 MW turbines.
The project is being jointly developed by Taiwan-based China Steel Corporation (CSC) and Danish fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
Once completed in 2024, Zhong Neng will generate green electricity for 300,000 Taiwanese homes.
