New GM appointed at Izmir Geothermal, Turkiye
Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Furkan Sener will be taking over as General Manager of Izmir Geothermal in Turkiye following the retirement of Sinan Aslan.
A change of duty was made in Izmir Geothermal Energy San and Tic A.S., which operates under the 50% partnership of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Sinan Aslan, who has been the general manager of the company for more than 12 years, is retiring. Izmir Bakircay University Faculty Member Assoc. Dr Mehmet Furkan Sener was appointed.
The Board of Directors of Izmir Geothermal Inc. convened under the Presidency of the Governor of Izmir, with the participation of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunc Soyer. After the meeting, information was given about the change made in the company’s general manager position.
Balcova Geothermal Energy Industry and Trade, which was established in 2000 by leaving Balcova Termal under the Special Provincial Administration. Ltd. Sti., as of 2005, received the title of Izmir Geothermal Energy Industry and Trade Inc. with a 50% partnership of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. As of the end of 2019, the actual capacity of Izmir Geothermal, one of the largest geothermal-sourced district heating systems in the world, is 37,956 (housing equivalent) and the installed capacity is 50,500KE.
