Registration deadline for the European Geothermal Congress 2022 extended
Online registration for Europe’s largest geothermal congress EGC 2022 in Berlin is extended until 13 October. The congress will take place from 17 to 21 October 2022 in the heart of Berlin at bcc (Berlin Congress Center).
Over 800 participants have already successfully registered for the upcoming European Geothermal Congress (EGC2022) in Berlin this October. The congress hosts EGEC and Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. still want to give the opportunity to take part in the congress and work together for economic, sustainable and safe heat for all through geothermal energy.
At the congress, you can expect numerous sessions, an opening ceremony with high level speakers, up to seven technical sessions at the same time, poster presentations, side events, an exhibition and excursions, as well as semi-plenary sessions. The two semi-plenaries on Wednesday 19th of October, 1 A and 1 B, will feature presentations on the theme “Is the EGS technology still alive?” and on technological trends in geothermal heating and cooling.
The semi-plenaries on Thursday 20th of October will focus future-oriented topics. Session 2 A will explore the perspectives for the geothermal energy market, session 2 B the perspectives for well technologies.
In addition, two Patricius Medals will be awarded at this event, the highest honour granted by the Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. (German Geothermal Association). Since 1994, the Federal Geothermal Energy Association has been honoring personalities who have rendered outstanding services to the development of geothermal energy use with the Patricius Medal. In Session 1 A, Roy Baria, the 2021 winner, will be awarded a Patricius Medal retrospectively. In 1 B, the winner of this year will be announced and honored.
The new deadline for online registration is the 13th of October, with only PayPal and credit cards allowed as payment methods after the 5th of October. After October 13, spontaneous participants can still register on site during the EGC at the Berlin Conference Center, but no reduced rates will be given there.
About the Congress
The European Geothermal Energy Congress will take place from 17 to 21 October 2022 at the BCC, Berlin, Germany. Every three years, stakeholders from all areas of the geothermal sector meet at the EGC, which this year is jointly organised by the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) and the Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. (BVG) in Berlin. The program was prepared under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ernst Huenges, former head of the Geoenergy section at the GFZ. Together with 60 other geothermal experts from all over Europe, more than 400 submitted scientific papers were reviewed, evaluated and compiled into a diverse and appealing program. Helmholtz Centre Potsdam German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) is the Main Institutional Partner of the EGC2022.
Interested parties can find the preliminary program online at http://europeangeothermalcongress.eu/congress-programme/
Registration is open until 13th of October.
After the deadline for online registration, it will still be possible to register on site at the Berlin Congress Center, but unfortunately without any applying discounts.
