Siemens Gamesa wins firm turbine order for 924MW US offshore wind farm

It is due to supply 84 of its SG 11.0-200 DD turbines for the wind farm located 50km east of Long Island.

The European turbine maker had initially signed a conditional order to supply Danish developer Ørsted and US utility Eversource with 122 of its SG 8.0-167 DD turbines.

New York aims to have 9GW of offshore wind capacity by 2035, and has already contracted 4.2GW of offshore wind across two previous tender rounds.

A 2GW offshore wind tender is due to be concluded later this year.
