Hollandse Kust Zuid Beta topside arrives in Rotterdam

Boskalis has completed the transport of the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) Beta substation topside from Dubai to Rotterdam using its semi-submersible heavy transport vessel Mighty Servant 3.

The HKZ Beta topside is scheduled to be installed in the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm zone in the Dutch North Sea in the coming days.

The Mighty Servant 3, loaded with the 700 MW, 3,950-tonne HVAC offshore transformer station, arrived in the Port of Rotterdam on 22 March, a month after sailing out of the Drydocks World Dubai’s fabrication facility.

This is the second High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) offshore transformer station topside, built by Petrofac and Drydocks World Dubai for the Dutch-German transmission grid operator TenneT.
