Vestas exceeds 5GW of Brazilian orders for V150 turbines

Vestas has racked up more than 5GW of orders for its V150-4.2MW turbines in Brazil, following its latest 212MW deal in the country.

It is due to supply 47 of the V150-4.2MW turbines in 4.5MW power optimised mode for Omega Energia’s 212MW Assuruá 4 – Omega Assuruá 4 – Omega (212MW) OnshoreGentio do Ouro and Xique-Xique, Bahia, Brazil, Central & South America Click to see full details wind farm in Bahia.

Turbine delivery is planned for the second half of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.

The manufacturer will also service the turbines for ten years.

With the order from Omega Energia, Vestas has now secured more than 5GW of orders for its V150 turbines in Brazil – including deals for both the standard 4.2MW rating and 4.5MW uprating.

It started serial production of the model in Brazil 18 months ago.

Since launching the platform in 2017, Vestas has secured more than 14GW of orders globally for the V150-4.2MW.
